Teen Driver Ed course, We work together with parents to learn safe driving skills and the rules of the road. We supervise their practice driving to satisfy the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)-required 14 hours of behind-the-wheel driving.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE STUDENT DRIVER VEHICLE, ONE MUST...
· Pay attention at all times and be aware of their surroundings Comprehend the lesson being taught. Show improvement and give feedback before proceeding your Driving Test, (This means you should retain the skills and instructions taught in previous lessons)

The instructors are aware that it is natural for many new drivers to be nervous the first time they drive. However, if you suffer from extreme anxiety or nervousness, you should consult a doctor especially before proceeding to the Department of Public Safety (D.P.S.) for your driving
Here's what you'll learn:
The permit test is given at the end of the first week and it covers knowledge of road signs, signals, and road rules. A vision test will be given as well before the permit test.
According to the new implement of the DPS, teenagers (under 18) are required to go to DPS office with their parents, as they will issue Instruction Permits (Leaners Licenses) with Biometric Photograph. The Drive Times are scheduled once the student get their Instruction Permit.
There are 14 hours of in-car instruction. The lessons are broken down into seven 2 hour lessons which include seven hours of driving and seven hours of observation. Driving times will be scheduled by the student after they get their permit.
Documents to be shown to DPS:
Two proofs of residency ( water/utility bill)Certified Birth Certificate (No foreign birth certificate accepted, must have resident alien card, passport with visa, Texas id or citizenship papers)
STUDENT MUST BE AT LEAST 16 YEARS OF AGE AND HOLD THEIR PERMIT FOR SIX MONTHS AND MUST HAVE COMPLETED THEIR COMPLETE DRIVERS-ED PROGRAM ( 32 CLASSROOM HOURS, 14 IN-CAR HOURS). PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
DPS REQUIREMENT FOR TAKING THE ROAD TEST AT THE DRIVING SCHOOL:
MUST WATCH ‘IMPACT’ VIDEO, APPROXIMATE 2 HOURS, PRINT THE CERTIFICATE, PRIOR TO TAKING THE DRIVING TEST. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR DRIVING TEST WITHIN 90 DAYS OF WATCHING THE VIDEO. ENTER THE NAME OF THE DRIVING SCHOOL ATTENDED OR PARENT TAUGHT OPTION.

TEENS FROM OTHER DRIVING SCHOOLS, PARENT TAUGHT, CAN TAKE THE TEST AT OUR SCHOOL AS WELL. BUT ALL TEANAGERS NEED THE FOLLWING ITEMS WITH THEM, WHEN THEY COME TO OUR SCHOOL TO TAKE THE TEST.
IF YOU NEED TO CHANGE/CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT, PLEASE CALL OUR OFFICE AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR TEST DURING BUSINESS HOURS.
ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS MUST BE PRINTED AND BROUGHT FOR DRIVING TEST !!! IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DOCUMENTS LISTED BELOW ARE BROUGHT INTO THE OFFICE WHEN ARRIVING FOR THE TEST.

Teenagers are required to attend 6 hours of classroom instruction before the written test is administered. Must pass with a 70 or above. Students must also pass the vision and written tests before any DPS paperwork will be given

If the student wears glasses or contacts, be sure to bring them on the day of the test. A vision screening will be done as part of the testing.
7. When all of the requirements have been satisfied, including the classroom instruction and behind the wheel driving, AAcurate Driving School will issue the TEA Certificate (form DE-964) stating that the student has met all of the requirments.

Rules for In-Car Instruction (Teen Drivers)
1. You must arrive 10 minutes before scheduled drive time.
2. You must have your valid Texas learners permit in your possession during ALL behind-the-wheel lessons. Close Toe Shoes..
3. If you have an "A" restriction on your permit, you must wear your glasses or contacts during the behind-the-wheel lessons.
4. If you are unable to attend a drive time, you must cancel at least 24 hours before it is scheduled, or you will be charged $30 to reschedule.
5. Always Drive Safe Driving School is State Board Certified..
6. Our cellphone policy* is the same as the Public School Systems.
7. If you fall asleep during your observation time, you will not receive any credit for that day and you will be charged $20 to reschedule the drive time.
8. Please make sure that you have made arrangements for pick-up after your drive time is completed.
9. During the drive schedule We cannot reserve a spot for you by phone, All drive times must schedule in person..
10. All students will be on a 6 months Probation before getting the Driving License…
11. Drive times are spread out within the 6 months Probation
( 1-2 Drive Times per months) State Requirement..

Texas Law requires 30 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction with an adult who is at least 21 years old
